On Saturday Nov 12, 2022, 5 pm the session Listening for Black Feminism explores the format of the mixtape as a shared conversation between Layla Zami from research project B05 and Romi Ron Morrison, Artist and Scholar, USCLA, and Mercator Fellow at CRC 1512. Through a call and response structure each artist will share short audio/video/written samples and pose questions to each other about their current sound practices. This shared conversation addresses the various ways in which Black Feminist scholars, artists, and poets explore the sonic aesthetics of Blackness through theories of listening, acousmatics, and improvisation.

This session is organized by Layla Zami (B05) and Jan Dammel (RTG Minor Cosmopolitanisms) as part of Minor Cosmopolitan Assembly.
