Die Herausgeber*innen des Buches Gegen/Öffentlichkeiten diskutieren künstlerische Praktiken des Intervenierens im öffentlichen Raum. Am Beispiel des Ernst-Thälmann-Denkmals in der Greifswalder Straße werden Formen der künstlerischen Dokumentation und Kommentierung gezeigt, die etablierte Bewertungen außer Kraft setzen und eine andere, kritische Öffentlichkeit erzeugen können.

The event is part of the series Wissen zwischen Büchern and will take place during the Berlin Science Week. From November 1–10, 2026, the Berlin Science Week breaks research out of the institutions and into the city. We want not only to make research understandable and accessible, but above all to create a space for exchange—through formats that allow visitors to ask questions, contribute their thoughts, and participate in discussions.
