What is the role of scientists in the current polycrisis? What are the responsibilities and challenges for academics to join civil disobedience? Fernando Racimo, Associate Professor of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Copenhagen, will read from his book „Science in Resistance“ (University of California Press 2025) about his personal experience of joining climate protests and about the institutional restraints that thwart activism in academia. We will discuss the current state of academia in the ecological and democracy crisis and its role in the global climate justice movement.

Matthias Grotkopp from subproject C05 will discuss the book and its theses together with the author Fernando Racimo.
