Prof. Dr. Lucia Ruprecht, head of sub-project B02 “Intervening Choreographies: Formats and Practices of Decolonization and Ecology”, and Prof. em. Dr. Gabriele Brandstetter,  head of the project B02 during the first funding period (2022–2026), are each represented with a contribution in the newly published tanz Yearbook 2026.

Under the yearbook’s thematic focus “accomplices,” Gabriele Brandstetter’s contribution “Adie Avant-garde. Can Complicity Replace the Avant-garde as the Driving Force Behind Artistic Innovation and Cultural Change?” explores the relationship between the avant-garde and complicity, as well as the associated power structures and traditions in art. She considers how artistic practices might be conceived beyond a radical break with existing structures.

In “New Horizons. How disability aesthetics, inclusive choreography and new ideas of participation are reshaping contemporary dance,” Lucia Ruprecht examines the blurring of boundaries between the dancing body and the political or social body. She proposes to understand (dis)abled and able-bodied movements as manifestations of a dancerly continuum, rather than as two separate aesthetic worlds.

Both contributions have been published in the German edition of tanz. Jahrbuch 2026 as well as in the English-language international edition.
